Food for Thought Friday

Breakfast
If you were given one extra hour everyday - how would you use that time?
I’d like to say that I would do something productive with that time but I know myself well enough that I would probably sleep, read or surf the net.

Lunch
What is your favorite season and why?
I really love Spring and Fall but if I have to pick a favorite I’m going to go with Fall. I love the cool, crisp air. I love the leaves changing colors. I love pulling my sweaters out of storage and wearing them. I love Halloween. I love the smell of Fall in the air.

Dinner
Are you a tight squeezer, a delicate hugger, a back patter, a hand shaker, or a hands off completely person?
This, of course, depends on who it is that I’m hugging. With most people I’m a hands off person. I really value my personal space. If it’s one of the kids, a relative or a close friend then I’m a tight squeezer.

Midnight Snack
Have you ever gone skinny dipping? If so where?
I’m sure I have at some point in my life but it had to been long enough ago that I have no memories of the event. I’ll have to ask Mom, I’m sure she could tell tales.

Twilight Thursday?

I'm late, I know. I have no excuse other than I'm a slacker. That's all there is to it. I could use the excuse that there's not a lot of news this week or that school started this week or that I have to write a talk for church on Sunday but I won't do that. I will own up to my slackerness because that truly is the reason I'm posting Twilight Tuesday on Thursday.

The Wall Street Journal published it's bestseller list. Guess who has FIVE books in the top ten? Yep, the Queen Mother, Stephenie Meyer!
1- Breaking Dawn
2- Eclipse
5- Twilight
7- The Host
8- New Moon

Isn't that amazing?!?!?! I wonder if any other author has ever done that.

There's a new picture of Rachelle Lefevre decked out as Victoria. She's going to be fantastic as Victoria!
The biggest Twilight news in my little world is that I'm going on another Twilight trip. It's with the same ladies I went on my LA trip with plus about 140 more. Guess where I'm going?!?!! I'll give you one hint-

2 weeks from tonight I will be sitting at Bella Italia watching my friends eat mushroom ravioli. I don't care how much I love Twilight, Stephenie Meyer or Edward, I'm not eating fungus!

We will then go to Forks and be there for Stephenie Meyer day. On the agenda is a hike in the Hoh Rainforest, a bonfire on First Beach, a wolf dance by the Quileute tribe, a tour of the Forks High School and lots and lots of laughter!!

This all started back in December as a small group of us going to Forks for the weekend. It has grown since then to a group of about 150 TwilightMOMS all descending on Forks. I think we have every available cabin and hotel space rented. We will be with our little groups but will get together as a big group too. It's going to be so much fun!!!! Luckily the city of Forks has been prewarned!

Oh Goody!!!

Last semester there were a couple of girls in one of my classes that I affectionatley called "Dumb" and "Dumber"- they are really nice girls but they just aren't the sharpest crayons in the box, if you know what I mean. They provided quite a bit of comic relief during that class with their comments.

So I walk into class tonight and guess who is in my class??!?!!? BOTH of them.

It's going to be a good semester :)

Huh?

So I'm sitting in chuch this morning singing the opening hymn, which was #34, and when I sang this phrase "Tho thou wert forced to fly to thy chambers on high" I had to stop signing. Wert? Is that even a word??? I giggled to myself through the rest of the song and decided to google the meaning of wert as soon as I got home. I had pretty much figured it out due the context it was used in but I still wanted an official definition, so here you go-
wert- (wûrt) A second person singular past indicative and past subjunctive of be.
I feel better now.

(Yes, I am fully aware of my dorkiness!)

Blessed

Do you have someone in your life that you know was placed in your life at that exact moment you needed them most, even if you didn't realize you needed them? A person who, from the moment you meet, just gets you?

I have a friend like that. We met in March of this year and I feel like I've known her forever.
I spent today with her and her family at their annual girl party. I wore a shell lei and a flower in my hair, drank lava flows (yummy!), ate shrimp kabobs and just enjoyed myself thoroughly. As I was driving home I reflected on how blessed I am to know her and have the opportunity to call her friend. It was a good moment for me. I've been so wrapped up in the stress of my car and school starting again that I've forgotten to be thankful for all the blessings I am given on a daily basis.
Here are pictures of our yummy drinks and of my Hawaiian name tag, simply because all blog posts should have pictures :)

A Mormon Conspiracy???

I just got this in an email from a friend. I loved it!!

A man, calling himself an ex-Mormon, called into Michael Medved's radio show and claimed there was a “Mormon conspiracy” to take over the U.S. government. Medved's response is a classic-

Food for Thought

The chef at Friday's Feast has disappeared. I keep checking back and she hasn't appeared so I went looking for some other kind of journaling. I found Food 4 Thought Friday and I thought I'd give it a shot.Breakfast
Are you a morning person or a night person?
100 % a night person! I hate mornings! I have much more energy and am more productive at night.

Lunch
Do you like to shop? If yes, for what? Alone or with others?
This totally depends on my mood and what I’m shopping for. If I’m in the shopping mood I like to shop for just about anything and with anyone.

Dinner
What is something that really motivates you?
Anger is a really good motivator for me. If someone makes me angry by doubting my ability to do something I feel like I have a point to prove so I’m extremely motivated. I’m also motivated by a rapidly approaching deadline.

Midnight Snack
What is one thing you look forward to each day?
Chatting with my friends

Frustrated!!!!

I hate cars!

Just thought I'd share that tidbit with you all. I know you will all sleep better tonight knowing that.

Good Night!

Twilight Tuesday

Ahhh... Twilight Tuesday again... how is that possible? Time seems to be flying! Anyway... on with the show

I mentioned in my last post that Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince has been moved to July. Summit Entertainment has announced that Twilight will be moving to the November 21st slot that HP left empty. Squeeeee!!! We get the movie 3 weeks earlier! YAY!!!

Today's MTV Twilight Tuesday focuses on Jasper, played by Jackson Rathbone. You can read the interview
here.

Do you remember this picture?

Do you remember my reaction to Jackson's hair? Ick!!! Well, Jackson addresses the hair issue here.

I'm still undecided about Jackson as Jasper. I'm hoping that he will blow me away in the movie.

Ummm.... I think that's all for today..... I'm watching the women's gymnastics balance beam competition right now so I'm having a hard time concentrating. If I think of anything else I'll edit this post.

Oh! I forgot about this- it's a spoof on the Twilight trailer and it's hysterical!!!!

Bummer

I just found this- In a last-minute move, Warner Bros. has just announced that the studio is pulling Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince from its fall lineup and rescheduled it for July 17, 2009.
I guess I'll have to put that obsession on the backburner for a while.

While I was reading the reactions about the movie being pushed back I found a ton of pictures from the movie at The Leaky Cauldron. I can't tell you how much this picture fills me with delight!

Family Reunion

Amid all the car drama, Breaking Dawn and my trip to LA we had a family reunion. Everyone descended upon Mom and Dad's in Panguitch and the chaos began. It was craziness as usual but we wouldn't have it any other way. Here are some snapshots from the weekend-

The time of my life!

I had the most amazing time! I'm not sure I can even begin to express how much fun I had in LA.

To start I have to explain how I came to know these women that I was with in LA. Last fall I started a series of books- you may have heard of them- the first one is called Twilight. After I read the first three I began searching the internet for more information to satiate my desire for more about these series as I waited for the fourth book to be published. A very simple google search will show you how many Twilight fan sites there are out there. I had spent time at a few but I didn't find any that were a good fit. Most of them were geared towards teenagers so I kept looking and then one day I stumbled upon TwilightMOMS.com and I knew I was home. I had found other women that were around my age that understood how consuming these books were to me. It was heaven! When I first discovered the site there were less than 100 members. I think that I was number 68, now the site has over 10,000 members! I have made some amazing friends on the site, some of which I have been able to meet in person.

When LA was announced as a concert stop a bunch of women from the site decided they were going to go. I flew out with Lisa and Amy but there were a bunch of other women from Utah at the signing as well. Women came from all over- California, Idaho, Arizona- Jess even came from England (ok she was here on vacation already but it was still really cool to meet her).

These women are amazing! We come from all walks of life and we have all been united by one thing but have discovered that we have so many things in common.

We met as a huge group before the signing/concert and then headed over to see the
Queen Mother and Justin Furstenfeld from Blue October. Steph answered questions about Breaking Dawn and was just as cool as she ever is. I adore her!!! She looked exhausted by the time we finally got to her to have her sign our books but she still smiled and thanked us for being there.

Justin sang a few of Steph's favorite songs. He was so good!!! He brought me to tears with several of the songs- My Never and Hate Me were the two that really got to me.

Here are pictures from the signing-

The signing was Thursday night, so Friday a small group of us hung out and were very, very, very silly. We went to the Santa Monica Pier and frolicked in the ocean, had the most amazing Italian food I've ever eaten and went to downtown Hollywood and were touristy. Here are some pictures of all the craziness-

We had the BEST Italian food I've ever had outside of Italy. I actually think that it was better than some of the food I've had in Italy. I can't remember the name of the restaurant. I'll have to find out and then edit this. It was so good that it deserves a slideshow of it's own-

I had the time of my life. I don't think I have ever laughed so much! I feel like I've done 1000 sit-ups because my abs are sore from the laughing. Little sleep was had but it was a small sacrifice for the memories that I will carry with me forever. I loved meeting all the Twilight Moms I met but I have to give a special shout out to Kirsten, Britten, Georgia, Amy, Lisa, Kendra, Sarah, Jenny, Mary and Mary Ann for being so wonderful!!! I love you gals! Oh and a very special shout out to Chad, Georgia's hubby, for putting up with us! You are amazing!!

Ready or not.... here we come!!

I'm headed out tomorrow morning for the Breaking Dawn Concert. I'm so excited!!!! Three days with my Twilight friends!!! Life is good!

I hope LA is ready for the Twilight Invasion!

Breaking Dawn

I laughed, I cried, I sighed, I sobbed, I gasped, I cheered, I swooned.... so many emotions, so much to take in, it was like being on a roller coaster. I feel like I'm still absorbing it all. I've already started through it again so I can go slowly and really get a grasp on it all.

There were plot twists that I didn't think could possibly happen but I'm still satisfied. She wrapped it up in a beautiful bow just as promised.

What did you all think?

Tonight's the night!

I know it's not Tuesday but I can not help myself. I must blog about Twilight today. I know none of you are shocked by my inability to not mention it today. In case you've missed the countdown at the bottom of my blog or all the news coverage- a certain book that I've been anticipating for a while is coming out at 12:01 am tonight!!!! I am so excited about having this book in my hot little hands. I'm not sure I was this excited about Harry Potter (blasphemy, I know)

I've been trying to act normal (as normal as possible for me) but this is how I've been feeling all day-

I'm headed out of town shortly- I won't be back online until I'm done with the book. I can't risk running across any spoilers. I bet you can already guess what the topic of my next Twilight Tuesday will be. ;)

Have a great weekend everyone! Happy Reading to all you other Twilight Lovers!!! I hope we all survive the journey!!
