Twilight Tuesday

I've been slacking on my Twilight Tuesdays! It's really late and I'm tired so I'm going to keep this really short tonight.

Super cool Twilight video~

Amazing picture of Peter Facinelli as Carlisle Cullen! I know that there are two other vamps in the picture but we've seen lots of pictures of them. This is one of the first good shots we've gotten of Carlisle!!

That's all I've got tonight- I'm off to bed!!

Just for fun~

I made this at Wordle.net from my blog.

Mamma Mia!

I finally saw Mamma Mia! yesterday. I've been meaning to see it for weeks but I just haven't gotten there. Mom was in town and discovered I hadn't seen it so we went to the matinee yesterday. We were the only ones in the theater except for a creepy guy that was only there for a little bit of the show. It was a fun way to spend my Saturday afternoon.

I loved it!!! What a fun movie!! Loved the cast, the music and the scenery- I'm ready for a trip to Greece!

Love/Hate Relationship

I have a serious love/hate relationship with ER. I've been watching since the very beginning and I want to stop but I just can't!!! They are continually putting my emotions through the wringer, I don't know how much more I can stand! Thank goodness this is the last season.

Why I went to Forks...

I didn't go to see these things~ (although I enjoyed them)

This is the reason I went to Forks~

I'm having a hard time putting into words how I feel about these women. They came into my life at a time I really needed them. I'm not sure I even recognized that I needed them but someone knew I did.

This trip was about so much more than just Twilight. True, Twilight is what brought us together but this trip was about celebrating friendship and love and laughter.

I'm going to refer back to the song that inspired the title of my blog to put into words my feelings-

"I've heard it said that people come into our lives for a reason, bringing something we must learn and we are lead to those who help us most to grow, if we let them and we help them in return.....So much of me is made of what I learned from you. You'll be with me like a handprint on my heart and now whatever way our stories end I know you have re-written mine by being my friend..... Because I knew you, I have been changed for good."

(I stole a few of these pictures from my uber talented friends that were with me. I'm not even sure where I got them all. I do know I stole a couple from Georgia and Britten. I also think there is one of Amy's in there. Thanks gals!)

Vampilla Ice

As I mentioned in my Forks Day Three recap we stopped by one of the other group cabins for some entertainment. Dana and Jazz have reworked Vanilla Ice into a new and improved Vampilla Ice. It's pure genius!!! Enjoy!

Forks- Day Four

Sadly all good things must come to an end. Sunday was the day that we all had to return to real life. Due to different flight times our groups left in shifts, which meant a new set of good-byes every hour or so. It was so hard to do!

Our little group of four headed out about 10:00 am. We wanted to get breakfast and hit a few sites in Forks that we had missed the day before. We had breakfast at the Forks Coffee Shop.

Rachelle, Rae, and Meg. Rachelle and Rae are signing something but I don't remember what or why.

Rae and her hot chocolate (or was it Meg's? I don't remember)My GINORMOUS Pancake! It was yummy! I couldn't eat it all by myself though. Meg helped :)

Rae got a little comfy with the locals! If there's a grizzly around does that mean Emmett will be nearby?? One can only hope!

Have I ever happened to mention that I love Carlisle? He comes a very close second to Edward in my heart. So of course we had to visit the Forks Community Hospital.

Unfortunately Dr. Cullen was not on shift :( It was a sunny day so he probably called in sick since he couldn't have gotten from his car to the hospital without being noticed.

After a scenic but unsuccessful attempt to find the Swan home (did you know you could get lost in Forks? If only we'd had a map) we headed towards Seattle. We made one last stop at the Forks sign for pictures (Go! Stop!) and then got on our way.

I didn't realize how much we had missed driving from Port Angeles to Forks in the dark. What a gorgeous drive! It was stunning! What an amazing area of the country! It's someplace I definitely want to visit again.

We got to the airport with plenty of time to spare. We ran into quite a few people from our group and from other groups all waiting to board planes. We sat around in the food court area and laughed some more- the group changing as peoples flights left and others arrived to wait for their flights. It was a great way to end the trip.

It was finally time for Meg, Amy and I to leave. We said our goodbyes (again!) and went to our plane. I think I was asleep before the stewardess even started her spiel.

What an amazing weekend~ what an amazing group of women. I am so blessed.

Forks- Day Three

Day 3~
Saturday the 13th was Stephenie Meyer Day in Forks. It was the reason we chose this particular weekend to go to Forks. Our plan for the day was to simply do all the activities that Forks had planned. The entire town went all out to welcome all the Twilight fans. Here are some pictures of our wandering through town~

One of our stops was at the Forks High School. They were giving tour of the school and took us to all of Bella's classes. The girls giving our tour were really cute and fun and patient to put up with us.

After the high school tour we headed down to Tillicum Park for a group picture. I don't have a copy of the entire group but I have this one that is as many TwilightMOMS as were in the park at the time of the picture.
This one is everyone that was in our "little" group. What an amazing group of women!!!After the group pictures we headed over to Sully's for a late lunch. Sully's is "famous" for their Bella Burger so of course we had to try it. I'm still trying to figure out what makes it a Bella burger. It was just a cheeseburger with pineapple on it. I, as usual, had to take pictures of my food. I'm not sure why I do that.

The final activity planned for Stephenie Meyer Day was a bonfire on First Beach with a wolf dance by the Quilleute tribe. It was cold and foggy out there on the beach but it was tons of fun!!!!

After the bonfire we went to one of the other groups cabin for some entertainment. I'm hoping that said entertainment will be on YouTube soon. It deserves a post all of it's own so keep your eyes open for that one.

After being entertained we headed back to our cabins where we roasted hot dogs and marshmellows and laughed late into the night. It was wonderful!!

One more day to go...

Forks- Day Two

Day Two~
One of the first things I did when I got up was check out the cabin and it's surroundings. The cabins we rented were called A Cozy River House and they were very accurate in their description. This was the view from the front porch~ And this is the view from the back deck~Life's real rough, isn't it??? I couldn't believe how gorgeous it was!! It fit right into my vision of where the Cullen's house would be. I loved it!!!

We started off our day with a stop at the Forks sign. I don't remember why we didn't get a group picture at that moment but we never made it back for a group shot :(

Then we stopped at the Forks Coffee Shop to pick up our sack lunches and decorate our cars.

We then headed out for a hike in the Hoh (pronounced hoe) Rainforest. Here are a few of the MANY pictures I took on the hike. I was in awe of the rainforest. It was so beautiful and green! Once again it was exactly as Stephenie describes it. I was amazed. My only complaint was that it was sunny! Is that silly or what? Most people want it to be sunny while hiking. I'm a weirdo, I know.

Our next stop was First Beach. First Beach surpassed anything I could have ever imagined. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around First Beach. I think that it was my favorite Twilight sight that we went to. I truly can believe that mythical creatures exist there. The first moment I saw First Beach was magical- we were in the car listening to a Muse song (I can't remember which one) and we came around the corner and it there it was, everyone in the car gasped. It's a memory I will have with me forever.

After First Beach we headed into Fork for a little shopping. We wanted to get a good shot at the sweatshirts before the crowds bought them all on Saturday. We went to the Thriftway and the Outfitters (which are actually one store) and I bought a "What happens in Forks, stays in Forks" sweatshirt and a Team Edward T-shirt.

During the 10 month planning of this trip we came up with the brilliant ideas of exchanging scrapbooks and gifts plus making ya-ya-esque headdresses. Friday evening was designated for pizza and hanging out in our headdresses, handing out our gifts and pages and doing a little karaoke.

I was amazed by the creativity of the women in our group. I got Twilight themed pens, drool buckets, a Forks bracelet, a toe-ring, a Christmas tree ornament- the list goes on and on. The scrapbook pages are treasures that I will cherish always! Here are a few shots of the craziness-

To be continued...

Forks- Day One

I've been trying to figure out how to tackle the monster that is the Forks trip and all the pictures that come with it. I've decided to do a post for each day. There is a lot of information here so be prepared for a really long post. You might want to grab a snack or something before you start to read.

First things first- I pulled a muscle in my back on Tuesday morning so I was pretty drugged up the first two days of the trip. The problem with that is that a lot of those days are a little foggy. I'm sad because I wanted this trip to be amazing and unforgettable and I feel like I missed quite a bit those first days. I managed to make do with just ibuprofen for the last two days so they are much clearer.

Thursday September 11th-
My alarm went off at 5:00 AM! For those of you that know me well, I'm going to give you a moment to recover from the shock.... Are you ok now? Can we continue? Ok, good.

I had a 8:25 flight to Seattle so I arrived at the airport about 7:30. I met up with Meg and Amy and we got checked in.

When we arrived in Seattle we headed towards baggage claim where our group of 25 women had arranged to meet. We all had flights that were arriving within a few hours of each other so we just hung out, visited and waited for everyone to arrive. It was great fun for us but I'm not sure how the other patrons of the airport felt about us. We got all excited every time someone new joined the group, then we'd get settled down (kind of) and it would start up all over again when someone else arrived.

After everyone had arrived we got our rental cars and headed to the pier to catch the ferry. We had lunch at Ivar's first- Clam Chowder and Fish 'n Chips- yummmmmmm!!!! I could live in Seattle just for the fresh seafood.

Then we boarded the ferry (way fun!) and headed to Port Angeles. We had a reservation at Bella Italia at 7:00 and got there with plenty of time to spare. We wandered around and found Gottschalks (where the dance dresses were purchased), found an alley that we're sure was the exact one the bums cornered Bella in but sadly Edward did not come screeching around the corner to save us. We spent some time down by the docks just enjoying the view and then headed back up to Bella Italia for dinner.

As any good Twilight fan knows Bella Italia is where Edward and Bella have dinner after he rescues her from her would be attackers. It's also where he first admits that he is a vampire. At this dinner Bella drinks Coke and eats mushroom ravioli. The problem is that Bella Italia doesn't really serve mushroom ravioli. When we called months ago to make our reservation the manager said he would do what he could, sure enough they had mushroom ravioli on the menu for us. Not that I ate the mushroom ravioli but it was cool that they made it special for us. I had chicken parmesan and it was to die for!! Dessert was chocolate mousse that was a little piece of heaven on earth. Georgia and Britten were going to choreograph an interpretive dance to it, it was that inspiring. I'm not sure if the dance ever happened-hmmmm.... I'll have to send them an email.

After our wonderful dinner we headed towards Forks. It was dark by this time and the roads were really narrow and windy. It was easy to figure out why Bella freaked out when Edward drove on them at 100 miles per hour.

We arrived at our cabins, claimed beds and settled in for the night. It had been a long day so we turned in early. (by early I mean about 2 am!)

Here are a few shots of the day-

More tomorrow...

Stay tuned...

After I get caught up on my homework/studying, unpack, and sort through 700+ photos (yes, you read that correctly) I will have a big, long, juicy post about my adventures in Forks.

(Kathy- this is mainly for you since you keep checking :) I didn't want you to think I was ignoring you.)

Forks or Bust!

In just a few short hours I will be boarding a plane headed for Seattle where we will rent cars and drive to Forks. This trip has been 10 months in the making. I still can't believe that it's finally here. I'm reuniting with the amazing women I went to LA with and meeting a whole bunch more. There are 27 women in my group and about 138 more in all the other groups. I am so excited to finally meet these women.

I'll be back on Sunday evening with a zillion pictures, I'm sure. Until then take a look at some of the sights I'll be enjoying~
