How did I not know how fabulous this place is?!?!? Spoon Me is frozen yogurt heaven! In addition to the fact that it's yummy, the name and menu is brilliant! (And it's good for you!)

This was my amazing concoction- Natural yogurt with raspberries, kiwi and cheese cake bites. Oh. My. Goodness!

Check out their site to see if there is one near you. If there is go asap! You won't regret it, I promise!!!

Fangirl Friday

Fantastic news!! The Host is going to be released in paperback and will include a bonus chapter! I'm SO excited!! I LOVE The Host! It's my favorite book by Stephenie Meyer. If you haven't read The Host you need to!!! Even if you didn't like the Twilight Saga you need to read The Host. It's so good! The characters, the plot, the setting- all of it is fabulous!

We're giving away 10 copies of The Host over at Eve's Fan Garden. Enter to win here.

This is from when Stephenie was in Salt Lake for The Host book tour. A small group of us got to have breakfast with her.  The picture seemed appropriate to post with news about The Host. It was definitely a fangirl moment :)

Fangirl Friday

I have multiple celebrity crushes. One of my top five is Ewan McGregor-

Any man that can wear a kilt that well deserves a spot in the top five, right?

One of my all time favorite roles that he plays is Christian in Moulin Rouge. Not only is he beautiful but he can sing too!!!! *thud* (Men that can sing are my weakness!)

If you want a really good laugh go to YouTube and search for Ewan on The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson. They are hysterical together!!! (remember that it's late night and so it might not be family friendly)

It's the simple things...

Life is good!

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

The Book Thief I can honestly say that this is one of the best books I have ever read. I was a bit leery of reading it for a couple of reasons. The first reason was that I didn't think it would be possible to live up to the hype. I was also hesitant to read it because I've been to Dachau (a concentration camp) and it was a life altering experience. I wasn't sure that a book could capture the horror that I felt while I was there.

Well, my fears were in vain. Not only did The Book Thief live up to my expectations, it surpassed them. I was so impressed by the way the author handled what was going on with Germans and Jews during WW2.

I don't want to say much because I don't want to spoil the book but I would recommend this book to everyone. It is not a typical escape the world kind of book that I usually read but there are some situations in history that need to be faced head on. The Book Thief does a beautiful job of doing that.

Fangirl Friday

One of my favorite books and movies of all time is Anne of Green Gables by LM Montgomery. I've read these books and watched these movies more times than I should be willing to admit. I always wanted to be Anne Shirley. She's fun, spunky, creative and brilliant. (Who am I kidding? I still want to be Anne Shirley!) I've always wanted to be a redhead and I blame that little quirk of mine on Anne.

My first literary love was Gilbert Blythe. From the the time Gilbert called Anne 'Carrots' I was smitten. I was in love with him before I ever saw the movie version of the book but once I saw Jonathan Crombie I was a complete goner.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!

Today is Theodor Geisel's 106th birthday. We know him as Dr. Seuss.

I have such a soft spot in my heart for Dr. Seuss. Mom used to spend hours and hours and hours reading his books to us.  She read them so much that she would sit on the bed with her eyes closed and recite the books as we would turn the pages.  I know that my passion for reading was born during those countless hours of reading about Horton, the Cat in the Hat, The Lorax, The Sneetches and more. Thank you Mom and Dr. Seuss!!!!

What's your favorite Dr. Seuss book?
