Friday Five

Today's Friday Five from Eve's Fan Garden:
Vampires, werewolves, demons, oh, my!
Talk about 5 types of mythical creatures/people you love and why.
I've never picked up a book specifically because it has a certain type of mythical creature in it so this list is difficult for me to come up with. I'm going to tweak this a little bit to make it a little easier for me so here's my list of favorite books with mythical creatures/people in them.

1. The Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling: My first trip into the fantasy genre was the Harry Potter books. I love the world that JK Rowling created. I want to live in her world and be friends with her characters.

2. The Mortal Instruments/Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare: Oh how I love me some Shadowhunters! Will, Jace, Jem... *swoon* Plus all the other fabulous mythical characters in these books (Team Magnus!!) I love everything about these books and am so excited that we get a bunch more over the next few years.

3. The Iron Fey Series by Julie Kagawa: I'm not usually a fan of faerie's but I kept hearing what a great series this was so I finally caved and read it. I LOVED it!! I fell head over heels in love with Ash, I adore Puck's sarcastic humor, and I admire Meghan for her love and devotion to her family. I can't wait to see what happens to them in The Iron Queen (Feb 2011).

4. Graceling by Kristin Cashore: I love this book. Love, love, love it! Katsa is so fierce and strong and so broken at the same time. Watching her come to peace with herself and her "grace" (power) is an incredible journey. Plus there is Po *sigh* I'm dying for Bitterblue to come out! Do you hear that Kristin?!?! I NEED it!

5. The Host by Stephenie Meyer: I don't like sci-fi. Aliens are not my thing so I was a little apprehensive about reading The Host. I read it merely because of the fact that Stephenie wrote it. I didn't expect to have it become one of my favorite books ever. I love everything about this book! Stephenie has mentioned that she has an outline for two more books in this series, I wish she would stop working on those silly vampires and write them!

I know that I'm only supposed to list five things so these two aren't actually part of Friday Five but I have to mention them because I ♥ them too.

The Poison Study series by Maria V. Snyder: A kick ass heroine, magicians and a super hot assassin- what's not to like? If you haven't read these books do it now!

The Fallen series by Lauren Kate: Dark, mysterious, southern, and fabulous! Love these books!
