Our April Birthday Celebration

Sunday night we got together to celebrate Amanda and Mark's birthdays.

Luckily the weather was gorgeous so we were able to have a bbq in the backyard. We had a great time sitting around visiting and enjoying Spring. The kids had a fabulous time running around and being silly. I took a bunch of pictures-

Spencer didn't want me to take his picture so I took a bunch of pictures of him avoiding my camera. I love this kid even if he is a brat about getting his picture taken.

 I love Mark's freckles!!

I love this sweet moment between Lyn and Will.

Howie sure does love his daddy!

This one is blurry but I had to post it because it made me laugh because Austin is way too big for the swing.

This one is blurry too (my battery was dying) but I loved that Colton was letting Ashlyn push him. I love the look on her face.

The boys were doing something with this bike, I have no clue what, I just loved that Howie had to be in the middle of all of it.

Tracy found a book about Abraham Lincoln for Dan and I finally gave it to him on Sunday. He loved it! He spent most of the night reading it.

One of Life's Simple Pleasures

One of my favorite things in life is to drive with my sunroof open and the music up loud. In moments like this all the crap that is going on in life doesn't seem to matter.

Another Catch Up Post

I just realized it's been two weeks since I posted last. I think this means it's time for another Life According to AmyO's cell phone and Facebook post. (Hmmm...maybe I should change the name of my blog?)

Socks and I spent many evenings just like this.

Spring has arrived, it's so pretty-
It is pretty but it also makes me sneezy and itchy and ornery-

As is the tradition the girls went to dinner while the men were at Priesthood session of conference. The only two men allowed were these handsome fellows.

I had to get a new laptop (RIP my old friend). The best part about the new one, besides the massive increase in speed and memory, is the fact that I got a new wireless mouse and it's purple. Yes, I'm a dork.

April 4th was Robert Downey Jr.'s birthday. I'm thinking of starting a petition to have it declared a national holiday.

I gave my final speech in my public speaking class. Over a months worth of research and half of my grade was all tied up in this stack of notecards. Luckily I got an A on the speech which means I ended up with an A in the class. *happy dance*

Mother Nature showed further proof of her mood disorder by sending us beautiful days and then sending us this-
The one good thing about these Spring storms is that the snow doesn't last long. The above picture was taken before work. The next one was taken the same day after work.

Mom came home from Japan. Tracy and I met her and Dad at P.F. Changs for dinner right he picked her up at the airport. We introduced Tracy to the amazingness of the lettuce wrap. She's hooked.

It was Easter and I failed at taking pictures. I took a grand total of one picture of the egg search- Katie with her stash.
I managed to capture Howie telling his parents some big story. I'm sure it involved a car, truck or keys.

My friends Christy and Shelley and I went to the new City Creek in downtown Salt Lake. It was a gorgeous day and I did some damage to my pocketbook.

The boys enjoyed the waterfall (that is before the security guard yelled at them to get off the rocks)

 Katelyn got some yummy cheesecake.

The kids had a blast in the fountain. I wonder how happy they were to have to travel all the way home completely drenched. I bet it wasn't as much fun.

I chopped 4 inches off my hair. It's amazing how a haircut can change your outlook on life :)
I think that catches me up. The life of a single person is really exciting, isn't it?

The Hunger Games Midnight Show

A little, independent movie opened last week. It didn't get a lot of press or advertising so my friends and I decided to go to a midnight show so it wouldn't have a terrible opening night. Surprisingly it ended up having a pretty solid opening weekend ;)

We met before hand for late night pancakes at IHOP. While we were there Christy painted my nails with nail polish that was inspired by the districts in the movie. (I'm a spazz and can't paint my right hand.)

Here's the finished product-

Then joined the masses at the movie theater. It was chaos!! They had showings scheduled throughout the night. It made me so happy that a movie based on a book was getting so much attention and love!
(Ali, Rae, Genell, Kim, Shelley & Christy)

The movie was FABULOUS!! My detailed review is posted here.

Happy Birthday Lynners!!

We had a two part celebration for Lynn's birthday this year.

The first was a family party on Sunday evening.

It was snowing but that didn't stop Colton and Austin from riding their homemade trikes.

Silly Dan!!

I'm not sure what this look is about but it made me smile.

These two are crazy!!

Then on Tuesday the girls went to lunch at Sonora Grill. Kathy bought a cake from Parson's- it was yummy!!!

Happy birthday Lynn!!! Love you!!!
